Tahoe Silicon Mountain evolving into the Lift Truckee Foundation
Lift launches nonprofit for educational, entrepreneurial, & community benefit programming
Truckee, CA—Tuesday, May 20, 2025 — Following a decade of hosting educational and entrepreneurial events, Tahoe Silicon Mountain (TSM) is proud to announce an evolution to the Lift Truckee Foundation to grow a shared mission of supporting social enterprises, entrepreneurship, education, and community resilience.
The Lift Truckee Foundation (501c3 nonprofit) is based at the Lift, a Cowork, Conference, and Wellness Center at the Truckee Tahoe Airport.
“It’s a privilege to help carry forward the work of Tahoe Silicon Mountain. Our dedicated volunteer community has fostered innovation, sparked curiosity, and built meaningful connections in Truckee Tahoe. I’m proud of how we’ve grown and evolved, and as we enter this new chapter—with fresh leadership and expanded capacity—I look forward to supporting this incredible community and its mission as a member of the Board,” said Ellen Raynor, TSM’s Board President since 2019.
“In recent years, about 10% of the Lift’s revenue has been directed to support nonprofits, social enterprises, and educational events open to all,” stated Jan Holan, co-founder of the Lift Cowork, Conference, and Wellness Center. “Formalizing these activities through the nonprofit will give others an opportunity to grow these programs and our collective community impact.”
Lift Truckee’s evolving programming includes:
Grants and Scholarships – free or discounted Lift memberships for nonprofits, social enterprises, start-ups, entrepreneurs, artists, community members, and students.
Community Connection and Learning Events – open to all – learning lunches, wellness workshops, climate hub gatherings, film screenings, art showcases, and more.
Community members are invited to a Tahoe Silicon Mountain celebration and Lift Truckee Foundation Ribbon Cutting on Monday June 9th at 5 PM at the Lift Cowork, Conference, and Wellness Center. Of course, it’s on Monday to commemorate TSM’s signature program, Mountain Minds Monday.
